Amber Carter

Communications Coordinator, University of Tennessee Health Science Center
Amber Carter joined UTHSC in Sept. 2010 and has been with the Communications and Marketing Department since Feb. 2011. As communications coordinator, her duties include researching, writing and editing press material, feature writing, project coordination and development, media relations and placement as well as providing support on communications and diversity and inclusion initiatives.
Carter proudly serves as editor for the UTHSC Office of Equity and Diversity’s groundbreaking Diversity Matters newsletter. She also serves as the student liaison for the department and sits on UTHSC’s 504/ADA advisory board as an advocate for persons with disabilities. She has previously held positions in Enrollment Services and Human Resources at UTHSC. Carter is currently the incoming Hospitality Chair for the Memphis Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America. She is an honors graduate of the University of Memphis where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications with a concentration in Film and Video Production. Carter received training from the Memphis & Shelby County Film and Television Commission and is a certified production assistant for television and film.
